Clinical psychologist Dr. Natasha Wallace and physiotherapist Chloe Evans discuss pelvic health, postnatal recovery, and the invisible pressures of modern motherhood.

When Postnatal Care Falls Short

Many new mums feel invisible after giving birth. The baby becomes the focus, and their own recovery, body, and wellbeing quietly slip down the list.

In this honest and powerful episode, I’m joined by Chloe Evans, a pelvic health physiotherapist and mum who turned her own postnatal struggles into a mission to support other women. Together, we talk about the parts of recovery that no one really prepares you for. From pelvic floor health and rebuilding strength, to managing guilt and the pressure to “bounce back.”

The Overlooked Side of Motherhood

Chloe shares how common pelvic health issues are after childbirth, and how, with the right support, they can be treated and improved no matter how long it’s been. We also discuss the importance of small, consistent exercises and how reconnecting with your body helps rebuild not only strength, but self-trust.

For so many working mums, the return to work can bring a mix of relief and guilt. Together we explore how compassion, pacing, and realistic expectations can make that transition healthier,  physically and emotionally.

Why Talking About Recovery Matters

There’s no single “right way” to heal after birth. Every recovery is unique, and it’s time to normalize postpartum struggles instead of hiding them. As Chloe says, seeking help isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s one of strength.

This episode is a reminder that postnatal recovery isn’t just physical. It’s also about reconnecting with yourself, giving your body and mind the care they truly deserve.
