“Why Do I Feel So Different Now?”
Motherhood has a way of changing things you didn’t expect. Not just your body, but how you see yourself.
The way you move through the world and the confidence you used to have without thinking about it.
And yet, there’s this unspoken expectation that you should get back to normal quickly. Bounce back, carry on, be grateful and keep going.
This episode came from that quiet question so many women carry:
Why does this feel harder than I thought it would?
When Your Old Identity Doesn’t Quite Fit Anymore
Marlene and I talk about what it’s like when the version of you that existed before motherhood suddenly feels far away. When your body doesn’t respond the way it used to, when motivation shifts and when what once felt easy now feels… complicated.
There’s often grief in that, even when you love being a mum. And that grief doesn’t mean something’s wrong, it means something real has changed.

The Pressure No One Really Names
“Bouncing back” sounds harmless, but it carries a lot of weight. It shows up in subtle ways. WHen you are scrolling past toned bodies, productivity quotes, messages that suggest you should be further along by now.
We don’t unpack all of that in this blog, because it’s something that really needs space. But on the podcast, we do talk about how those expectations quietly shape how women relate to their bodies, their health, and their sense of worth after motherhood. And how exhausting that can be.
What If Health Looked Different Now?
One of the threads running through this conversation is the idea that health doesn’t have to look like it did before.
That strength doesn’t have to mean pushing. That care doesn’t have to be earned. That slowing down doesn’t mean giving up.
It’s less about rules, and more about listening. Listening to your body, your energy, and what this season actually needs.

You’re Not Behind - You’re Becoming
This episode isn’t about fixing yourself or getting back to who you were.
It’s about giving yourself permission to become someone new and doing so with kindness, patience, and far less pressure.
If you’ve been feeling disconnected from your body, unsure how to relate to yourself post-baby, or quietly questioning what “health” even means anymore, this conversation is for you!
